Course Description

This course covers basic topics of structure and function, organic reaction fundamentals, and stereoisomerism. Aliphatic and cyclic compounds, including alkanes, alkenes, alkyl halides, alcohol, ethers, and alkynes are studied. Emphasis is placed upon investigating the common types of reactions these compounds undergo. Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in the following courses: (CHEM 1212K) or (CHEM 1212 and CHEM 1212L). Corequisite(s): CHEM 2040L.
