World Lit I Begin-15th Century

Course Description

A study of selected works of literature from the beginning of writing to the mid-15th century (Medieval) presented in their historical and cultural contexts. This course presents myths, epics, dramas, and prose works from Gilgamesh and Homer to the great traditions of Hebrew, Chinese, Indian, Middle Eastern, Greek, and Roman philosophers who laid the foundation for modern, global thoughts. This course also examines ancient and classical poetry from around the world. Credit toward graduation not allowed for ENGL 2114, ENGL 2111, and ENGL 2114H. Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in ENGL 1102.
